Our Story

Legend has it the mulberry is the genesis of everything—the Tree of Life. Beloved by artists and scholars alike, this ancient tree symbolizes abundance, utility, strength, and wisdom. Its luscious berries and large heart-shaped leaves provide food and shelter for the silk moth and her silkworms—a sanctuary for these industrious yet elegant creatures. Knowing they are protected, the creatures grow and prosper. Together, the tree and the silkworm produce some of the world’s finest, most luxurious fibers, while living in perfect harmony.

Our mission at Black Mulberry Interiors is to create one-of-a-kind spaces that are both beautiful and functional, enhancing the way our clients live. Our design aesthetic is not “one size fits all”, nor is it a templated approach. Our designs are informed by our clients, their memories, things they love, and their aspirations for living—all culminating in a new vision for their future dwelling. Our designs bridge the past and the future, drawing on inspiration from the world over, the worlds within us, and most importantly, the world in which our clients dream to live.

Design Done Differently

Founded by Tony Enea of Ruvin Bros., Black Mulberry Interiors offers an exciting new approach to interior design. Our process begins with a meeting between the client and one of our experienced interior designers. Our designers listen to the client and seek to fully understand their wants, needs, and dreams. Understanding how the space must function, what the client envisions in the space, and their likes and dislikes leads to an enhanced customer experience and a design that encapsulates the client’s vision.

Meet Tony

Tony Enea’s vision for creating Black Mulberry Interiors was born out of a rich history of designing and building exquisite homes, alongside collaborations with numerous independent interior designers. After decades devoted to designing and constructing new homes and custom renovations, he recognized a tremendous opportunity to bring a more comprehensive and personalized approach to clients’ spaces. This passion for design and the desire to delve into the finer details of a space ensures that every nook, every cranny reflects the unique personality and preferences of its owners. This attention to detail and loyalty to the client, Tony has learned, is what truly turns a house into a home. The creation of Black Mulberry Interiors felt inevitable, as it has allowed Tony and his team of experts to explore how furnishings and design can create spaces that are reflective, retrospective, and add value.

Tony lives in River Hills with his wife Theresa and their dog, a keeshond named Wilber. An avid animal lover, Tony has served on the Board of the Wisconsin Humane Society for more than 20 years.

Based primarily in Milwaukee and the northern suburbs of Chicago, Linda’s portfolio extends across diverse residential and commercial projects, reflecting her versatile design sensibilities.

Linda’s career has taken her beyond the Midwest, with notable projects in prestigious locales such as Naples, Connecticut, New York City, and Aspen. Her work seamlessly blends sophistication with functionality, creating spaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and tailored to meet the unique lifestyles of her clients.

Throughout her career, Linda has cultivated a reputation for excellence, earning the trust of a discerning clientele who value her expertise and dedication. Whether transforming a luxurious penthouse or revamping a cozy family home, Linda approaches each project with creativity and professionalism, ensuring every detail exceeds expectations.

In addition to possessing honed eyes for design, each Black Mulberry designer is also knowledgeable and trained in the build process. When given the opportunity to participate up front in the design/build, they know exactly how and when to effectively contribute to enhance the project’s overall vision.
